Pricing is influenced by the specific breed, individual kitten traits, and the nature of the placement. We provide clear, current pricing to approved families before they join our Family Reserve or commit to a specific kitten. Both the $100 Family Reserve fee and the $500 reservation deposit are fully credited toward the total purchase price. Our rates range from $2500-3500 per kitten for companions.
What is the Bare Lux Family Reserve?
The Family Reserve is our exclusive waitlist for approved families eager to welcome a Bare Lux kitten. After your application is approved, you may join the Reserve by submitting a $100 fee. Your priority on the list is determined by the date this fee is received.
Is the $100 Family Reserve fee refundable?
No, the $100 fee is non-refundable. However, it is not an extra charge; it is applied directly toward the cost of your future kitten if you are approved.
Can I pass on a litter and stay on the waitlist?
Certainly. You are never obligated to select a kitten just because it is your turn. If the timing, gender, or temperament of a current litter doesn’t feel like the right match for your home, you can remain active on the Family Reserve without paying an additional fee. Your original priority date will be maintained.
How does kitten selection work?
We reach out to families in the order of the Family Reserve. To help you make an informed decision, we provide photos, temperament observations, and developmental updates. While selection follows the waitlist order, we prioritize finding a thoughtful match for each kitten’s personality and your household environment.
What happens when I choose a kitten?
Once you’ve found your match, you will sign the Bare Lux Kitten Purchase & Stewardship Agreement and submit a $500 reservation deposit. This officially removes the kitten from availability. This deposit, along with your initial $100 fee, means $600 has already been paid toward your kitten’s total.
Is the $500 kitten reservation deposit refundable?
Because a reservation takes a kitten off the market for other families, this deposit is generally non-refundable unless Bare Lux is unable to complete the placement or as required by law.
When is the remaining balance due?
The final balance, including any travel or delivery costs, must be paid in full seven days before the scheduled Homecoming date.
Do you ship kittens?
We do not. To ensure the highest level of care, all Bare Lux kittens are hand-delivered by Sonia or a trusted member of our team. We never use third-party pet transporters because we believe in placing our kittens directly into the arms of their new families.
Are there travel fees?
Travel costs vary based on your location and the delivery method. We will discuss these fees with you well in advance so the total cost is transparent before your final payment deadline.
How old are kittens when they go home?
Our kittens depart when they are medically, socially, and developmentally prepared, rather than at a fixed minimum age. This extra time with their mother and siblings fosters confidence and ensures a smoother transition into your life.

What health testing do you perform?
Health is our foundation. We follow rigorous screening protocols for Sphynx and Devon Rex breeds, including genetic testing, adult cardiac evaluations, and infectious disease screenings. We are committed to ethical breeding and will retire any cat from our program if health concerns arise.
Do Bare Lux kittens have a health guarantee?
Yes. Our companion kittens come with a two-year contractual health guarantee covering serious hereditary or congenital conditions. Detailed terms and remedies are outlined in our Purchase & Stewardship Agreement.
Why is Life’s Abundance part of the health guarantee?
To qualify for the second year of our guarantee, we require families to maintain their kitten on the Life’s Abundance nutrition program. If a vet suggests a change for medical reasons, simply notify us with the documentation so we can update your records. This ensures your kitten receives premium nutrition during their vital growth stages.
Are Bare Lux kittens sold as pets or breeding cats?
Most kittens are placed as companion pets with strict non-breeding agreements. Breeding rights are not included in the standard price and are only granted under specific, individual circumstances.
Can I buy a kitten specifically for breeding?
Breeding placements are considered separately and involve a deep dive into pedigree, temperament, and the goals of the receiving cattery. A kitten’s physical beauty is only one small part of what makes it suitable for a breeding program.
Are Sphynx cats hypoallergenic?
No cat is 100% hypoallergenic. While Sphynx lack fur, allergies are often triggered by proteins in skin and saliva. We recommend spending time with the breed before committing if allergies are a significant concern.
Are Sphynx and Devon Rex cats good with children and dogs?
Both breeds are renowned for their social and affectionate nature. While individual personalities vary, we raise our kittens in a bustling home to prepare them for family life. They often thrive with dogs, provided introductions are handled with care.
Why do your kittens stay with you longer?
