This guide explains what happens next—from securing your place on the waitlist to choosing your kitten and preparing for Homecoming.

Your Family Reserve Application Fee
A $100 non-refundable Family Reserve fee is to be reviewed for your place on the waitlist. The full $100 is credited toward the purchase price of your future Bare Lux kitten. Should you not be approved, this fee is non-refundable.

Thank you for trusting Bare Lux with such an important decision. Bringing home a kitten is not simply a purchase—it is the beginning of a relationship that may last many years.
 
Our Family Reserve is designed to make the process clear, fair, and unhurried. You will have opportunities to learn about available kittens, watch their personalities develop, and decide when the right companion comes along.

Being on the Family Reserve does not obligate you to choose from the next litter. We would rather you wait for a kitten who feels right for your family than feel pressured to choose because your turn has arrived.

How the Family Reserve Works

1. Application Approval
Your application is reviewed personally. Approval means Bare Lux believes our program and placement expectations are a good fit for your family.

2. Join the Family Reserve
Your place is established when your $100 Family Reserve fee is received. Waitlist order is based on the order in which fees are received.

3. Watch for Available Kittens
As kittens become available, families are contacted in Family Reserve order. We will share photos, development updates, personality observations, and other information that can help you decide.

4. Choose—or Pass
You may choose an available kitten when it is your turn, or pass on that litter and remain active on the Family Reserve at no additional waitlist fee.

5. Reserve Your Kitten
When you choose a specific kitten, you will sign the Kitten Purchase & Stewardship Agreement and pay a $500 kitten reservation deposit. The kitten is then marked Reserved and removed from availability. The $500 reservation deposit is credited toward the kitten's purchase price. Together with the previously paid $100 Family Reserve fee, $600 will have been applied toward the purchase price at that point.

A Note About Deposits: Because reserving a specific kitten removes that kitten from availability to other approved families, the kitten reservation deposit is non-refundable except where otherwise required by law or where Bare Lux is unable to complete the placement.

6. Prepare for Homecoming
You will receive updates while your kitten grows, followed by Homecoming information and delivery planning.

 
Homecoming & Personal Delivery
Bare Lux kittens are personally delivered to their new families by Sonia or a member of the Bare Lux family. We do not ship kittens or place them in the care of a third-party pet transporter.
We believe the transition from our home to yours deserves the same care and intention that went into raising your kitten. Personal delivery allows us to know who is caring for your kitten throughout the journey and allows us to place your new companion directly into your hands.

Final Balance
The remaining purchase balance, together with any applicable travel or delivery fees, is due seven (7) days before the scheduled Homecoming date.

Travel Fees
Travel fees vary according to the delivery location and method of travel required. Any applicable travel fee will be discussed with you before delivery arrangements are finalized, so you know the total amount due before the seven-day payment deadline. Sonia or a Bare Lux family member personally delivers your kitten.
